I have had this for 4 days and used it 3 times. I have a 100-pound Golden Retriever who is 12 years old. I have been grooming my dogs for over 30 years and this is the best product I have ever bought. I have used the slicker brush 3 times and today I also used the de-shedder. He is blowing his coat and was really, really in need of a de-shedding. All 3 times I used it, it took less than15 minutes and filled the container up twice. I went through the reviews very carefully and will not be using the clippers. There is one review where the combs kept falling off and took a chunk of fur leaving a patch. I have two Oster clippers and have used combs multiple times and don't like them. They have never fallen off but if they aren't getting caught in the dog's fur, they aren't doing anything. I'm not a professional so user error is possible. I prefer using #5-#3 blades, depending on the dog. With the Golden, I only trim the back legs, a little off around the neck and sides. I'll continue to do that and his feet while he is on the grooming table. But after 3 short sessions, he looks so much better and I'm sure he feels better. He is so afraid of our vacuum, that all I have to do is open the closet door where it is stored and he starts barking. He was a little apprehensive but when I say OK, indicating he is free to leave the grooming table, he bolts. When I said OK after each of these 3 sessions, he just sat there, never expected that. I had only one small complaint, the first time I used it, the fur got stuck trying to get into the canister and it blocked the suction. It happened 4 times in 15 minutes, I had to keep shutting it off and opening the canister, then pulling out the fur that was stuck. Now, I check the brush frequently so I don't get too much fur on the brush before I release it and if I do, I pull half of it off the brush and release it a little at a time. Once he is groomed the way he should be, I won't have this problem. And since it is so easy to use and he doesn't have a problem, I will be using this frequently and there won't be a need to worry about too much fur on the brush. Note to the seller: if you would please change the clipper to allow them to use Oster blades, I would buy that attachment. In fact, I would buy another whole unit and use it downstairs to groom my Shih-Tzu who is almost 16. I keep him in a puppy cut, I don't plan to use this on him.
